The Latest in Headlight Cleaning and Restoration

Cloudy, yellow headlights - we see them everywhere. All cars manufactured in the past 15 years have plastic headlights and they all start to corrode and cloud up due to exposure to the sun and environment. Cloudy, yellow headlights don't just occur in old cars, they also occur on cars as recent as 2-3 years old. This corrosion and wear of the plastic headlight lenses is not only unsightly, but it is unsafe.

As stated by the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety, "An average of 9 out of every 10 cars on the road today has dirty or yellowed headlights that greatly reduce vision and need to be replaced or professionally cleaned." So what is one to do with these worn, yellow and cloudy headlight lenses? Up until recently, the only option was replacement and at an average of $250 - $400 per lens (not including installation and calibration (aiming)). For most people that was just too expensive to pay for their headlights.

There are aftermarket (non OEM) headlights available, but the savings is little and there are mixed reviews. It is a fact that quality, fit and durability of aftermarket headlight lenses is terrible (per Consumer Reports). Many of these aftermarket lenses were improperly sealed, didn't wear well and had moisture leaks which greatly reduce night time visibility and safety. Some wouldn't even fit without making modifications to the car. Being that the cost of most aftermarket lenses is very close to the cost of original equipment from the dealer (OEM) they were given a poor value and overall poor rating by Consumer Reports.

The recent advent of patented headlight cleaning and restoration kits has now brought an economical and affordable solution. Worn, yellow and cloudy headlights can now be restored to like new condition. Harsh UV damage from the sun and other environmental damage can now be reversed with these headlight cleaning and restoration kits. This is a repair that has not only been proven to be highly effective, but one that does not need to be done by a mechanic or body shop technician. These headlight cleaning kits can be used by the average consumer. This patented headlight cleaning and restoration kit is available for under $20 and is therefore much more cost effective than replacement and aftermarket lenses.

Being that clear plastic headlights are now standard on every automobile manufactured today and harsh conditions that cause them to prematurely wear are not going away, it is obvious that these headlight cleaning and restoration kits are sure to be helpful and save consumers money and increase night time driving safety at the same time. Car dealerships have been using the same headlight cleaning and restoration kits on their used car lots for the past 10 years and now you can too. Make your headlights shine and save big money at the same time.
